On the boat front, we’ve been busy making the bow unsinkable by filling two forward compartments with non-absorbent foam—because staying afloat is always a good plan, right? 😆 At the same time, we reworked the cockpit, softening sharp deck corners into sleek angles. It took extra work, but it was worth it. If you’re going to smash your face, better on a curve than a corner, right? 😝
Meanwhile Had some friends drop by today—some to help, some for moral support, and others just curious about the chaos.
Both port and starboard beds are done, custom-fitted for me with storage underneath for gear and food. Bonus: tweaking the storage gave me extra headroom inside—small changes, big wins! 💪
We’ve started work on the two fins (small stabilizers), tackled leftover tasks, and measured the top deck. Piece by piece, it’s coming together.
This is the race year—the Setka Atlantic Challenge happens only once every four years. The pressure is on, and every detail counts as we edge closer to the start line.
Oh, and about naming the boat—it’s a chance to honor my home city, first sailing club, and country. What do you think? It’s got to be meaningful and easy to pronounce over the radio.
